Every day around the United States, people make the choice to end their marriage for various reasons. The public doesn’t necessarily need to understand these reasons, but when certain couples are in the spotlight, what has gone wrong in the marriage and why the couple have decided to throw in the towel, it’s bound to get out. In many cases, their issues are really no different from the regular couples who tie the knot every year.
Actress Amber Heard and actor Johnny Depp are set to end their marriage only 15 months after they tied the knot. News of the divorce came after Heard claimed that Depp had abused her for years. The two have yet to discuss any details of the divorce settlement, but it has been reported that Depp has denied Heard’s request for spousal support.
It is not uncommon for people to have marriages that last less than five years, especially in Hollywood. Not too much else has been said on the subject, but even though this marriage was short, if a judge decides that Heard deserves spousal support, there is not much that Depp will be able to do about it. It would be the same with any other marriage where a spouse believes they deserve alimony.
