Divorce: Why a 2nd or 3rd Marriage May not Last

Divorce is never an easy thing to go through, but the fact is that there was a high probability of it before you even tied the knot. In fact, reports New York and around the world state that about 50% of first marriages will fail, with that number only climbing within 2nd and 3rd marriages.

2nd/3rd marriages are taken less seriously

As stated above, going through a divorce is never easy. Throughout the process, people have become hardened by it, and understandably so. This is why when they go into a second or third marriage, they are much more likely to keep that independence they grew and not taken the marriage as seriously they should. Simply said, a divorce is always an option for them and an easy one at that.

Too much baggage

Baggage can come in all types. It can be a jealous ex-spouse, high debt, or children from your first marriage. All these issues are then transferred to your new life, which can then make the other person very uncomfortable. It is an unfortunate thing to have to handle, but it is often the reason why a spouse will file for divorce.

Simply wanting someone in your life

One of the most common reasons why people jump into a second marriage so quickly is because they have not allowed themselves to live independently. They need someone in their lives and will jump at any chance to have that marriage life back. This, however, also leads to ignoring several red flags along the way, thus making divorce almost guaranteed.

Marriage can be a difficult thing to hang onto. Although working things out should always be your first move, it is the reality for many that divorce is often the base route to take. Thus it is imperative that you have legal representation at the ready in the event that this does occur.
